Using Visual Thinking To Improve Your Learning Experiences

November 9, 2022

11 AM – 12:30 PM – Virtual

Ideal for instructional designers, trainers, facilitators, coaches and anyone who wants to be better at getting their ideas across, this program will show you how to draw and use visual images to communicate your ideas.

This hands-on workshop, facilitated by Eric Oakland and Marita Herkert-Oakland, will discuss how to process and communicate information visually and you will be introduced to Relumed’s VAST Framework for visual thinking. No artistic talent needed, just curiosity and excitement for effective, creative communication!

Session Attendees will:

  • Explore how to bring visual elements to your training to improve understanding and memory
  • Learn how to draw to keep up with the speed of thought
  • Discover ways to use visual thinking collaboratively
  • Identify the physical and digital tools to take the next steps in your visual thinking journey

Meet the Presenters:

Eric Oakland is the co-founder and lead visualizer for Relumed. His drive is to bring common understanding of an organization to leadership and teams through visual communication. He leverages experience in design, video production, animation, graphic facilitation, marketing, brand management and more, to bring stories and ideas to light. As a creative entrepreneur, Relumed is Eric’s fourth co-founded business. He co-founded TruScribe in 2010 and Squigl in 2015.

Marita Herkert Oakland is the co-founder and lead facilitator of Relumed. Marita encourages leaders and teams and guides them through their work critically and compassionately. Her superpowers are identifying purpose and aligning strategy. She uses her masters degree in clinical social work in unexpected ways – working with entrepreneurs to overcome obstacles and accelerate change in alignment with their “Why?”
