December 2025 – Community Of Practice: Small Yet Mighty L&D Teams – DESIGN: Is our training tailored to our learners’ needs?

September 16, 2024 by Trew Landis

December 4, 2025

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM – In-Person @ ModernWell: 2909 S. Wayzata Blvd. Minneapolis, MN 55405

Design is vital to an L&D strategy as it ensures training programs are engaging, effective, and customized to meet learners’ needs. A well-crafted design strategy enhances the learning experience and supports the achievement of organizational goals. And here is where creativity can really take off! Prototyping, scenario building, performance objectives – there’s a lot to consider for effective instructional design! Come to this hands-on session where three facilitators from our own community of practice will each workshop design exercises you can implement in your jobs: Map It framework, CCAF, and scenario writing!

This is the third and final installment of a three-part series occurring throughout 2025. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions as your schedule permits. These sessions will cover three essential aspects of L&D: Strategy, Measurement, and Design. We’ll explore how a Small Yet Mighty L&D team can effectively implement each.

Developing Learning and Developing Programs with Cultural Intelligence (CQ)

October 20, 2025 by Trew Landis

December 16, 2025

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Modernwell

This event is limited to 30 participants

In this interactive session, participants will discover how to apply the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Framework to create learning programs that resonate across cultures, perspectives, and lived experiences. Through discussion, reflection, and real-world examples, you’ll learn how CQ can elevate your design approach, increase inclusion, and strengthen learner engagement and outcomes.

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) is a globally recognized research-based framework that helps individuals and organizations work and lead more effectively in culturally diverse situations. By integrating CQ into learning design, L&D professionals can enhance collaboration, creativity, and performance; build psychological safety and trust; and design programs that equip learners to thrive in any environment.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Develop action steps to embed a CQ mindset in their own L&D strategy or curriculum design process.
  • Explain the core components of the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Framework and why it matters for learning and development.
  • Apply CQ principles to design learning experiences that reflect cultural awareness and adaptability.
  • Identify opportunities to increase inclusion and engagement within existing learning programs.
  • Use CQ as a tool to build stronger learner connection, trust, and performance across differences.

This program is FREE for all ATD-GTC members. Members may bring one complimentary, registered guest.

By registering for this event, you consent to the use of your image and likeness in photographs and videos taken at the event. These images may be used by ATD-GTC for promotional purposes, including but not limited to, social media, website, and printed materials.
