Meet Our Facilitators:

Micky Nye is a seasoned leader, mentor, and author with a passion for developing others. Over the years, she has built a distinguished career in the supermarket industry, holding leadership positions across merchandising, operations, and corporate strategy. Starting as a high school employee, she worked her way up to become the first female store director at a New England based chain before serving in executive roles, including Vice President of Operations at Albertsons and Supervalu, and President of Farm Fresh. She later joined MDI as Vice President of Sales, focusing on enhancing the customer experience as a driver for business growth.

Micky’s leadership journey has always been guided by a deep belief in the power of mentorship. Her books—The Mentoring Blueprint and The Mentoring Blueprint Companion—serve as practical guides for fostering impactful mentor-mentee relationships. Her latest book, Boldly You!, expands on her “pay it forward” philosophy, encouraging others to embrace personal growth and leadership development. These books reflect the invaluable lessons she’s gained from mentors throughout her career and her desire to help others achieve their full potential.

Micky holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is also a graduate of several prestigious leadership programs, including Cornell Executive Leadership, FMI Leadership, and Senior Leadership Programs at Bentley College and Hartford University.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Micky has actively contributed to industry and community organizations, serving on multiple boards, including the Network of Executive Women, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, and Junior Achievement of Hampton Roads. She has been recognized for her impact with numerous awards, including Progressive Grocer’s Top Women in Grocery, the Women in Business Achievement Award, and induction into the Connecticut Food Association Hall of Fame.

  • Why seemingly simple conversations can be so stressful
  • How that stress impacts our outputs and collaboration

Troy Ferris is a leader with 25 years of experience mentoring, coaching, developing, and training leaders and teams across diverse, rapidly changing, and complex environments. No matter what role Troy is in, he’s driven to create clarity, simplicity, and connections that positively impacts the employee experience.

His passion lies in empowering leaders to be cultural architects and build thriving, productive teams. Troy has had a wide variety of lenses into the world of leadership, ranging from developing and training retail teams and supporting them in implementing and improving processes and technology all the way to working cross-functionally across organizations to manage organization change and team effectiveness. Troy is currently working in employee relations, has his Masters in Organizational Leadership, and is a certified Leadership Coach through the NeuroLeadership Institute.

Ava Goepfert, Sr Facilitator & Leadership Coach 

Ava connects theory to application and brings the people dynamic alive during her workshops and coaching sessions. She’s led dozens of teams of all sizes from first-line employees to executive teams through both virtual and in-person facilitations that get to the heart of what matters most. Her focus on uncovering what’s holding each of us back as leaders, teams, and organizations has helped dozens of companies ensure they are making space to honor both relationships and results. Her classroom experience as a college instructor and as a certified Narrative Coach Practitioner means she can bring the research and the powerful questions to address the toughest people problems in business.
