May – Learning Professionals Roundtable: How to Launch a Peer Coaching Program

May 25, 2022

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Virtual Event

Learn about peer coaching programs, what they are and how they are being used. Also learn a little bit about what has worked in the past and how you set guidelines.

Then, we invite you to participate in a conversation to brainstorm how a small startup company looking to implement a peer coaching program with a limited budget could go about it. Participants will leave with some crowd-sourced ideas that they can take away and potentially implement it in their daily work.

This program is FREE for all ATD-GTC members. Members may bring one complimentary, registered guest.

June Transforming Learning – WEX Inc.

June 7, 2022

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Virtual Event

Several years ago, Jess Almlie was tasked with a business challenge: to centralize the training function in a rapidly-growing organization while eliminating duplication, maximizing efficiency, and increasing the effectiveness of training provided for every employee. The result is a success story that combines learning theory, team structure, and business outcomes into a robust onboarding program.

Listen as Jess shares this story of onboarding transformation–from a program that blasted employees with information to a program built on a simple formula of learning and practice. Upon completion, the new onboarding program cut the time for an employee to enter production in half and significantly increased new employee confidence. This is the story of a creative, collaborative, and holistic approach to solving a business challenge in a way that worked for everyone – new employees, the learning team, and business stakeholders.

This program is FREE for all ATD-GTC members. Members may bring one complimentary, registered guest.

September Transforming Learning – Taylor Corporation

September 14, 2022

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Virtual Event

This presentation will take you on the journey Taylor Corporation took to introduce a Front Line Leadership Certification as well as some real-time results from Taylor’s first cohort of certified graduates.

Background on Taylor Corporation and the Front Line Leadership Certification:

84% of Taylor Corporation’s 1200 leaders directly manage 75% of our workforce. In today’s labor market, where attracting and retaining talent is more important than ever before, Taylor recognizes that front line leaders have a direct impact on the success of our employees and company. But like many organizations, Taylor has promoted our top performing individual contributors into supervisory, management and leadership roles by throwing them into the deep end of the pool and hoping they can swim. Many of our front line leaders have been in their role for a decade (or more) and have had limited opportunities for leadership development.

Taylor recently introduced a comprehensive Front Line Leadership certification program that includes world-class leadership content (outsourced but delivered by internal facilitators) combined with internal, Taylor specific-content. This six-week certification program is conducted virtually and includes classroom training, e-learning, individual and small group activities, assessments, and evaluations.

After completing all required coursework which includes a teach back with their manager, participants are certified as front line leaders and all certified graduates receive a 1% pay increase to demonstrate Taylor’s commitment and belief in the importance of strong leadership to their collective success.

This program is FREE for all ATD-GTC members. Members may bring one complimentary, registered guest.

About the Speaker:

Denise La Mere-Anderson is responsible for enterprise talent acquisition; field HR service delivery; and talent management for Taylor’s 10,000 employees worldwide. She brings over 20 years of progressive HR experience from companies including UnitedHealth Group and Best Buy, and she is passionate about helping employees reach their full potential at work.
